DEERFIELD —Five music students from Deerfield’s Caruso and Shepard Middle schools will perform this weekend in the Illinois Music Educators Association All-District music group.
“These students auditioned with hundreds of other junior high school musicians from northeastern Illinois and were chosen based on their tone, technique and musicianship,” explained Cathy Kedjidjian, Deerfield District 109’s coordinator of communications. “Competition for these groups is very keen and it is a great honor to be selected.”
Kedjidjian said those Shepard students are Adam Aaronson (trombone) and Alexander Ambrose (double bass); and Caedon Hsieh (cello), Erin Kim (violin), and Eli Weiskirch (clarinet) from Caruso.
According to the IMEA website, Saturday’s elementary All-District concert starts at noon, and the junior high All District concert begins at 3 p.m. at Wauconda High School.
