The following incidents were listed in the official reports of the Deerfield Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest by police does not constitute a finding of guilt; only a court of law can make that determination.
DRUGS
Beth M. Demas, 37, of Morton Grove was arrested and charged Jan. 11 with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, as well as driving an uninsured vehicle while her license was suspended, following a traffic stop near Lake Cook and Wilmot roads. Inside her car, an officer reportedly found several prescription drugs that were not issued in her name and over-the-counter medications. He also found a metal spoon that police said tested positive for cocaine. Demas was released on a $50,000 recognizance bond. A Feb. 6 court date was set.
WARRANT
Mark A. Soderberg, 31, of Zion was arrested Jan. 12 at Birchwood and Lake Cook Road after police said he was wanted on a $20,000 warrant for failure to appear in court. He was released on a $50,000 recognizance bond from bond court. A Jan. 30 court date was set.
