Another Fortune 500 company is about to put down roots in Bannockburn.
Walgreens has leased a one-story office building at 1000 Lakeside Drive near Interstate 94 and Half Day Road.
Just a few weeks ago, Catalyst Health Solutions, Inc., signed a lease to occupy 1200 Lakeside Drive, a three-story office building built in 1999, Bannockburn Village Manager Maria Lasday said.
Then, the North Shore University Health System announced it would move into the Bannockburn Mediplex, 2151 Waukegan Road.
Now, Walgreens has leased the 57,750-square-foot building that sits on a four-acre site in Bannockburn,
Walgreens is planning to remodel the facility to accommodate 450 employees in information technology that were in Northbrook. The building should be ready in May, said Robert Elfinger, media relations specialist in Walgreens’ corporate communications department.
The structure, built in 1995, boasts fiber optics installed in 2010, a state of the art security system, overhead doors and delivery stalls, as well as an on-site cafeteria, according to real estate websites that were advertising the building’s availability.
