Deerfield Police Blotter for Jan. 31

Updated: March 3, 2012 11:24AM

The following incident was listed in the official reports of the Deerfield Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest by police does not constitute a finding of guilt; only a court of law can make that determination.

DISTURBANCE

Paul S. Jacobson, 55, of 435 Elm St. was cited with a noise complaint at 4:30 a.m. Jan. 28 after he refused to lower the sound of music playing in his second floor apartment, police said. When officers responded to his unit, no one answered the door. When officers reached Jacobson by phone, he said he wasn’t at home. He was at the Golf Mill Shopping Center in Niles. But he couldn’t turn the music down anyway, because it was playing on his computer and that had “frozen.” Jacobson, who according to the report was cited for playing loud music before, also said the officer couldn’t cite him again because he didn’t know at what decibel the music was playing. A March 1 court day was set.
