THEFT
Someone on Jan. 31 took an iPod in a leather case from the bathroom of the men’s locker room at LA Fitness, 260 S. Waukegan Road. The owner traced the iPod to the 2000 block of Natoma Avenue in North Chicago through the global positioning unit built into it. Police met him at the home, which belonged to an employee of LA Fitness, where they found the iPod and the case. The owner of the items refused to press charges after the employee said he brought the items home for safekeeping, since they were too large to fit into the business’s lock box.
