Performances and cast for ‘The Foreigner’

Theater D announces the cast for performances of “The Foreigner,” being presented at Patty Turner Center, in Deerfield, on Friday and Saturday, March 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 8 p.m. and on Sunday, March 11 and 18, at 3 p.m. The cast includes:

• Betty: Sandy Greenberg
• David: Jeff Segal
• Catherine: Wendy Brown
• Owen: Bruce Meadows
• Ellard: Sammie Nieves Jr.

Older teens and adults will enjoy performances of “The Foreigner,” presented by Theatre D, a division of Deerfield Family Theater and a sponsored program of the Deerfield Park District. The show is directed by Debra Goldman; Donna Price is the producer. The show is produced with special arrangement with Dramatist Play Service, Inc., New York; and, originally produced by the Milwaukee Repertory Theater.

Daddy daughter dinner dance
Grades kindergarten to fifth Sunday, Feb. 26, 5:30-8 p.m. At Patty Turner Center, 375 Elm St., Deerfield. Western Celebration. Dads, bring your daughters for fun in a Western environment. Put on your Western attire and enjoy an evening full of dinner, entertainment and some square dancing. A souvenir photo provides lasting memories of this night. Register at the Jewett Park Community Center or online at www.deerfieldparks.org. Cost: Resident $24 per person; $48 per couple. Non-Resident $36 per person; $72 per couple.
Ice skating open
Ice skating will be available, weather permitting. There are unlighted neighbor rinks at Briarwood and Pine Street Parks and lighted rinks at Jewett Park and Jaycee Park. The hockey rink is located at Jewett Park. Warming house hours are Monday-Thursday 4-9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Sun. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Visit www.deerfieldparks.org.
Preschool program openings for fall
Deerfield Park District Preschool has openings for the fall 2012 program. Our preschool program, housed at Jewett Park Community Center, is geared for children 2.5–5 years of age. Mom and son sport night
For 4 - 10-year-old boys and their moms. Friday March 16, 6:30-8:15 p.m., at the Sachs Recreation Center, 455 Lake Cook Road (Deer Park Plaza), Deerfield. Each pair will have a treat, receive awards and prizes and take a souvenir photo to provide a lasting memory of the evening. KINDER day off

Gameworks Feb. 20
Monday, Feb. 20, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Jewett Park Community Center. For first through eighth grade. Gameworks in Schaumburg is the latest and greatest in video games, virtual reality, sky pirates, Hollywood bowling, Indy cars and so much more. You’ll get two full hours of game play plus carnival credits. Trip cost: $52 resident; non-resident $67. Extended care available from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Cost: resident $22; non-resident $26.
Bowling & ceramics festival
First through eighth grades, Tuesday, Feb. 21, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Jewett Park Community Center. This new event offers a great combination of sports and crafts. The day is filled with bowling, fun games and ceramics. Bring a lunch and drink. Trip cost: $34 resident; non-resident $43. Extended care available 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Cost: $22 resident; non-resident $26.
