“Shine at Zion: Car Wash and Car Show” on July 9 was a fund-raiser for the youth at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

More than $3,500 was raised due to the donations of the community. The funds raised will be used for a trip to New Orleans in July 2012 to help rebuild New Orleans with 35,000 youth at the National Lutheran Youth Gathering.

In 2009, 244,000 service hours were logged by the youth attending the Lutheran Youth Gathering in New Orleans. They completed service projects nd assembling school kits for all kindergarten through third-grade children in New Orleans.

Organizers of the Zion fund-raiser wished to thank the community, local businesses and the North Shore Corvette Club for their support.
