Letter: A thank you note
Updated: August 13, 2012 1:07PM
I, Eddy Patay, singer/entertainer, would like to thank you, my dear friends and my faithful audience, for your support and for having provided me with the opportunity to entertain you all these years.
With my humble beginnings in operetta and musical theater to Europe at Night, Miomir’s Serbian Club to The Cafe Continental, The Salzburger Hof, the Orbit, the Fireside, and other establishments of fine dining and entertainment, you, my “landsmen,” my Jewish audience, enriched my life, my career, my understanding of story and the emotional power of a song. You contributed to my growth as a man as well as an artist and performer.
Now the time has come (as it always does) to get off the stage, take a last bow, and say, “thank you, ladies and gentlemen. I hope you enjoyed the show, as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you.”
Thanks for the million and one wonderful moments you spent with me. May your days be filled with music and songs, and somewhere I hope, in the corner of your mind, you will see Eddy Patay reminding you that: “Those Were The Days, My Friend, We Hope They’ll Never End …”
Zay Gezunt,
Eddy Patay
