Being named to the Metro North All-Star team is one thing.
Being selected as one of the game MVPs is an even better thing.
Highland Park hockey player Michael Gordon earned that honor following Sunday’s all-star game at Northbrook Sports Center.
The senior, a goalie, stood out for the Blue Team, which also featured fellow Giants Zach Kalter, Noah Pickus, Alec Shapiro, Alex Block, Jordan Fox and Zach Putlak. The team was coached by HP’s Sean Freeman.
Two Deerfield players were all-star selections: junior John Henri Beaudoin and senior Patrick Beaudoin.
The MVP for the Gold Team was Glenbrook North’s Garrison Sanipass.
At the Junior Varsity level, Highland Park had three all-star picks: Jonathan Chudacoff, Zak Lieberman and Max Shiner. HP’s Marc Rosenthal was one of the assistant coaches at the JV all-star game.
Two Deerfield players were named: Eric Schmidt and Seamus Reid.
